The Arts Access Classroom Assistant supports the lead instructor with student supervision and, if applicable, instructional assistance during our inclusive classes. Inclusive classes at The Naples Players are designed for students who are on the autism spectrum, have sensory sensitivities, may be living with intellectual or developmental disabilities, or any other type of neuro-divergency. These classes encourage students to learn not only artistic skills but also valuable life skills such as teamwork, patience, sensory awareness, confidence and communication, to name a few.
Responsibilities: Assignments include
Assist with set-up and breakdown of classroom
Take class attendance
Assist with Demonstration of games and activities
Provide 1:1 Support for students who require additional support needs, as necessary
Re-engage students throughout the class, helping them remain focused
Escort students to the bathroom, as necessary
Monitoring safe pickups after class
Additional duties vary depending on the needs of the class and the background and interests of the classroom assistant. It is preferred if this volunteer has current or previous experience in caregiving, education, counseling/ behavior management, or similar fields. Volunteer MUST be comfortable assisting and working with neurodivergent students with varying levels of abilities.

Description
The Naples Players is Naples' premier community theatre located in a state-of-the-art facility opened in 1998. Volunteers fill every type of performance and production job available in 18+ adult and youth productions (musicals and plays) on three stages annually. A volunteer force of 650+ members contribute over 65,000 annually. TNP Academy of Dramatic Arts serves 700+ children annually providing basic to advanced theatre skills classes. The Naples Players Academy of Dramatic Arts (formerly KidzAct) consists of both Showcase Classes based on skills development and Performance Classes where participants are working on a full production of an upcoming show. The Naples Players is dedicated to providing high-quality arts access to every member of the community. The Naples Players is dedicated to providing high-quality access to the arts to all members of our community. Our inclusive classes provide a supportive environment to learn the performing arts for students who are on the autism spectrum, have sensory processing disorder, neurodevelopmental disorders, or any other type of neuro-divergency or any student who may wish to approach learning in a more accessible way.
