Being a hospice volunteer provides a very unique experience for the patient, family and you! A hospice volunteer builds deep relationships with patients and walk with families through difficult times. Every volunteer brings their own unique talents and perspectives to the table.
All volunteers go through a special training to be better equipped for those difficult times.
As a hospice volunteer, you will provide companionship and emotional support to patients and caregivers. There is a plethora of activities that can be done to help the patient, from reading, playing music and singing, to providing pet therapy visits. A volunteer can also help the caregiver by providing respite and running errands. They can even help out with administrative duties. Supporting patients and their loved ones is an extremely rewarding experience. It provides a sense of purpose. Hospice volunteers also learn so much about supporting people and families through this final journey in life.

Description
Harbor Hospice is patient and family centered care that addresses the physical, spiritual, emotional, and practical needs of the patient with emphasis on quality of life. Care is conducted by an interdisciplinary team working with the patient and family to design and implement a plan of care unique to the patient's diagnosis.
