Caregiver Support Program Volunteer

Caregiving can be a very rewarding experience but also places added stress on a caregiver's life. The Jefferson County Area Agency on Aging offers a program and support group to help ease this stress. We are seeking volunteers to help us as well!
A volunteer with the Jefferson County Area Agency on Aging can assist with any of the following:
- Help a person with paperwork. Help someone get it organized or completed.
- Understand how to use a device in tehri home. Like a piece of medical equipment.
- Make "Friendly Visits" and talk with the older adult. This could include phone calls.
- Send out cards for Birthdays, Anniversaries, Get Well, Etc.
- Continue to stay in touch with a person if their caregiver passes away.
A person with any background or education can help us meet the needs of caregivers and the care receivers to enhance their lives.
