Polk County River Place Food Pantry is looking for a few volunteers to help out in the food pantry. The ideal volunteer would be someone willing/able to make a weekly or monthly commitment. All volunteers are able to make up their own schedules, and work any time between the hours of 8-5pm, Monday-Friday. Volunteers would not be compensated, but would gain interpersonal experience with the community we serve. All volunteers have to be over the age of 18 and background checks are also performed. As a volunteer at Polk County Food pantry, you would be in charge of working with our clients and walking them around our pantry to help them choose their monthly food allotment.

We are in search of volunteers willing to use their personal vehicles (mileage paid) to deliver monthly boxes of food to home bound elderly clients.
Description
We are a program that provides monthly boxes of food, at no charge, designed to be nutritious and to help our client stretch their monthly food budget. Our program has age and income restrictions to be eligible. We have a location that our clients can come shop and pick their groceries and we also offer deliver at no cost to our clients that may be home bound or have transportation issues.

- We try to schedule shifts of 2 hours at a minimum but can accommodate anyone's schedule. We are open Monday - Friday from 8 am - 5 pm.
