Suburban poverty in Oakland County and food insecurity has become its fastest-growing problem. Every day, poverty-stricken families are forced to choose between necessities. Hunger cannot wait. Homelessness cannot wait. Unemployment cannot wait.
As a faith-based organization, Oakland HOPE will provide its patrons with something more than material assistance. We will show them the love of Jesus Christ in everything we do, instilling the only true hope that never fails.
As a Food Delivery Volunteer, you are dedicated to our mission, volunteering and love to drive!
This is an in-person role averaging 10 hours per week. Available shifts are Tuesday - Saturday 11 -4 pm. We are requesting 6-10 months commitment. Oakland HOPE is located 1 mile from I75 and the Great Lakes Crossing Mall. Is accessible on the ground floor and on a bus line.
Duties:
-Food pick up
-Furniture donation pick up/deliveries
-Must have clean driving record
-Flexibility
-Work well with staff and volunteers

HUNGER FREE AMERICA (formerly known as the New York City Coalition Against Hunger) is a national nonprofit group building a nonpartisan, grass-roots membership movement to enact the policies and programs needed to end domestic hunger and ensure that all Americans have sufficient access to nutritious food.
Our long-term goal is not just to ameliorate the problem, but also to build the people’s movement necessary to enact the economic and public policies needed to end hunger entirely. Given that hunger drains our economy and tears at our moral and civic fabric, we know that eliminating it will boost the nation both economically and spiritually. Towards that end, we’ve adopted the motto: "Ending hunger lifts us all."
