One of the impacts of the pandemic is the workforce shortage. We have a harder time than ever recruiting skilled professionals and are challenged with reimbursement rates that are competitive.
I do not have the skill set necessary to maintain an active presence on Facebook, but am aware of the benefits of this social media platform. One of our strategic initiatives is to elevate our brand, our presence in the community and leverage increased notoriety to engage the public, raise awareness, and recruit donors to support our mission.
Weekly or bi-weekly posting on Facebook along with creating content for Instagram ( possibly).
We also need someone to help us improve our marketing materials.

Mission Statement

Family Promise of Berks County strives to help homeless and low-income families achieve sustainable independence through community-based response. We partner with community leaders, service providers and a wide network of interfaith volunteers to provide hospitality to those in need. We believe in building a community in which every family has a home, livelihood and the chance to build a better future.

Description

Family Promise of Berks County is in the heart of downtown Reading, Pennsylvania. Our organization is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and affiliate of Family Promise National. We partner with local communities and networks of volunteers to provide services to homeless families, youth and individuals facing a housing crisis. Our doors opened in July of 2006 and we have been graciously serving communities in need ever since. Current programs focus on rapid rehousing, homelessness prevention, mediation, advocacy and emergency assistance.

Our unique model recognizes that maintaining family units increases successful outcomes. The latter allows for couples and single parent households to remain with their children while being sheltered versus being separated by gender. An average week at Family Promise of Berks serves 3 families and 5 youth while providing families with 168 meals and 84 bed nights. The volunteers we work with typically spend 274 hours a week providing these services while case managers work with families to support them in gaining independence.
