Beautiful Day's mission is to cultivate connections between refugees and the public through business endeavors, training, and education so our communities thrive.
Many of our program participants work on weekends at local farmers markets selling Beautiful Day's products: granola, hummus, and coffee. These markets are great learning opportunities as participants set up the stands and interact with the public. They can practice their English and develop confidence as they chat with customers. Many friendships have been built across the granola table and several participants have found permanent jobs through the connections they made at the markets. The relationships formed there also further our mission of fostering a more informed and welcoming public response to the refugee community.
We are looking for 1-2 volunteers to help with set up, break down, sales, technology, customer service communication, and potential transportation to and from local farmers markets in Rhode Island. We're also looking for 1-2 volunteers to help during our weekly workshops in Providence that aim to hone sales, language, and customer service skills.

Mission Statement
Beautiful Day helps refugees adjust to life in America by offering paid, on-the-job training. Every job in our company is designed to be part of a hands-on classroom where trainees gain critical skills and the confidence to enter the job market. At the same time, our award-winning products educate consumers about the refugee crisis. Every purchase, every bite or sip, provides a practical way to get involved with human displacement and start building more informed, welcoming communities.
Description
With 80 million displaced people in the world today, half of them children, it is vital that the world community find practical ways to help refugees resettle and rebuild. As the refugee crisis grows, so does the need for innovative solutions. Beautiful Day has developed a model for integrating refugees that works. People who once faced huge barriers are now working steady jobs, buying homes, and sending their kids to college. We are working hard to grow our business and expand our training programs with the long-term goal of replicating this model in other cities and states.
