If you find meaning in helping others there is no better way than voluteering for hospice. Your personal attention and compassion can provide a sense of well being and quality of life for those who are facing a daunting time in their lives. At the same time, the connection you establish will be so rewarding. Older adults have a lot to share about their lives: their accomplishments, their memories, their wisdom, the hardships they have faced, and the history they have witnessed. At accentCare we will match you with an individual you will always remember. We serve all of Rhode Island.
Respsonsibilities
- Visiting people in assisted living facilities or in their homes
- Providing social interaction and companionship
- Assisting with legacy projects such as scrapbooking, compiling favorite recipes, transcribing life stories, musical projects, and making keepsakes
- Using your unique skills and abilities to engage with new friends
Requirements
- Eighteen years or older
- Clean driving record
- Background check
- Health assessment (paid for by accentCare)
- Personal references

Description
AccentCare is a new hospice organization to Rhode Island. We are part of a nationwide company that is in over 35 states and employs over 30,000 people. Our branch serves the entire state, and we are dedicated to providing compassionate and excellent care for our patients.

- The time commitment is up to the volunteer
- Drug testing, TB testing, willingness to spend time training about hospice care philosophy and procedures. Hospice is regulated by Medicare and has to meet various requirements even for volunteers.
