ORGANIZATION: Wendell Foster

  • Wendell Foster is a non-profit dedicated to empowering people with disabilities to realize their dreams and potential. A part of this empowerment is helping our residents find valuable, lifelong connections within the community.
  • The Community Companion is a valuable position within Wendell Foster. Each person has the right to be involved within their community and have social interactions outside of their homes. By volunteering your time, you can be a "buddy" to one of our residents.
  • Visit with one resident weekly or biweekly to share your interests and hobbies with them. These visits can include playing games together, talking, going for walks, or simply watching the resident’s favorite tv show with them.
  • We will ensure that you enjoy your volunteer role by placing you with a companion who has the same interests and hobbies as you!
  • Volunteer positions can be customized based on the volunteer's availability and preferences.
