VOLUNTEER JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Overview

At Believe in Me, we envision a future where every child has the self-confidence they need to succeed. We are a dedicated team, funding and supporting children's charities that provide marginalized kids with a safe place to call home, a loving family, a sense of community, and ample opportunities to learn, grow, self-esteem, and experience joy. We are currently developing the 1st Gen College Hub app, aimed at empowering first-generation college students with comprehensive resources, personalized guidance, and a supportive community.

The Volunteer Fundraising Lead plays a pivotal role in securing the resources necessary to fuel our mission. This individual will spearhead fundraising efforts, from strategy development to execution, working closely with the leadership team and other volunteers to identify opportunities, manage campaigns, and cultivate relationships with donors and sponsors. Your efforts will directly impact our ability to support and expand our programs, making a lasting difference in the lives of marginalized children and first-generation college students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy aligned with the organization's goals and mission.
  • Identify and pursue grant opportunities, including researching, proposal writing, and submission management.
  • Cultivate and manage relationships with individual donors, corporate sponsors, and philanthropic organizations.
  • Coordinate and oversee fundraising events and campaigns, ensuring they are executed effectively and meet fundraising targets.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing and Outreach team to promote fundraising initiatives and engage the community.
  • Manage a team of volunteers involved in fundraising activities, providing guidance, support, and direction.
  • Monitor and report on the progress of fundraising efforts, analyzing outcomes and adapting strategies as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and ethical standards related to fundraising and donor relations.
Qualifications
  • Passion for the mission of Believe in Me and commitment to making a difference.
  • Previous experience in fundraising, grant writing, or donor management, preferably within a nonprofit context.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire volunteers.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building and maintaining relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Organized and strategic thinker, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with fundraising platforms, CRM software, and data management tools is a plus.
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote, volunteer-led environment.

Location

This is a remote volunteering position with flexible hours to accommodate volunteers from various time zones.
