VOLUNTEER JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Overview

At Believe in Me, we envision a future where every child has the self-confidence they need to succeed. We are a dedicated team, funding and supporting children's charities that provide marginalized kids with a safe place to call home, a loving family, a sense of community, and ample opportunities to learn, grow, self-esteem, and experience joy. We are currently developing the 1st Gen College Hub app, aimed at empowering first-generation college students with comprehensive resources, personalized guidance, and a supportive community.

The Volunteer Outreach Coordinator plays a pivotal role in expanding the reach and impact of the 1st Gen Colleg Hub app. By building and maintaining strategic partnerships, this individual will help us connect with schools, universities, nonprofit organizations, and other entities aligned with our mission. The Outreach Coordinator will be instrumental in promoting the app, securing collaborations, and enhancing the network of support for first-generation college students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner Engagement: Identify and establish partnerships with educational institutions, nonprofits, and other organizations that can contribute to or benefit from the app.
  • Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with existing partners, ensuring ongoing collaboration and support.
  • Outreach Strategy: Develop and execute outreach strategies to increase awareness of the app among potential partners and supporters.
  • Communication: Serve as the primary liaison between "Believe in Me" and partner organizations, facilitating clear and effective communication.
  • Collaboration Opportunities: Identify and propose opportunities for joint initiatives, events, or programs that can enhance the app's reach and impact.
  • Feedback and Reporting: Gather feedback from partners to improve partnership strategies and report on partnership activities and outcomes to the project team.
  • Volunteer Engagement: Work with the volunteer management team to identify opportunities for volunteers to engage in outreach and partnership activities.
Qualifications
  • Passionate about the mission of Believe in Me and supporting first-generation college students.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with various stakeholders.
  • Experience in partnership development, outreach, or a related field, preferably within the nonprofit or education sector.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute outreach strategies.
  • Organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote team environment.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work in a dynamic, volunteer-driven organization.

  • Familiarity with security assessment tools and methodologies, including penetration testing and security auditing.
  • Knowledge of web and mobile application development and the associated security risks and mitigation strategies.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and act swiftly in response to security incidents.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of working collaboratively with a remote, volunteer-based team.
  • A passion for cybersecurity and a commitment to using your skills to make a positive impact in the community.
Location

This is a remote volunteering position with flexible hours to accommodate volunteers from various time zones.
