VOLUNTEER JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Overview

At Believe in Me, we envision a future where every child has the self-confidence they need to succeed. We are a dedicated team, funding and supporting children's charities that provide marginalized kids with a safe place to call home, a loving family, a sense of community, and ample opportunities to learn, grow, self-esteem, and experience joy. We are currently developing the 1st Gen College Hub app, aimed at empowering first-generation college students with comprehensive resources, personalized guidance, and a supportive community.

Role Summary:

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Volunteer SEO Specialist to join our team. This role is crucial in enhancing the online presence and visibility of the Believe in Me app and related content, ensuring that our resources reach as many first-generation college students as possible. As an SEO Specialist, you will oversee the development and implementation of effective SEO strategies to increase website traffic, improve search engine rankings, and drive user engagement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough SEO audits for our website and app, identifying areas for improvement and implementing strategies to address them.
  • Research and analyze keywords to identify opportunities for content optimization and expansion.
  • Optimize website content, landing pages, and app descriptions for search engines, incorporating best practices for on-page SEO.
  • Collaborate with the Content Management Team to ensure SEO best practices are integrated into content creation and publication processes.
  • Monitor and report on SEO performance metrics, using tools such as Google Analytics and Search Console, to track the effectiveness of implemented strategies and make data-driven decisions.
  • Stay updated on the latest SEO trends and algorithm changes, advising the team on potential impacts and adjustments needed to maintain and improve search rankings.
  • Provide recommendations for off-page SEO strategies, including link-building and social media engagement, to enhance the "Believe in Me" app’s online authority and visibility.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience in SEO, with a strong understanding of search engine algorithms, ranking strategies, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in SEO tools (e.g., Google Analytics, SEMrush, Moz) and web analytics.
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to derive meaningful insights from data.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, comfortable working remotely with a diverse team.
  • Passion for the mission of "Believe in Me" and a desire to make a positive impact on the lives of first-generation college students.
  • Previous experience in the nonprofit sector or educational field is a plus, but not required.

Location

This is a remote volunteering position with flexible hours to accommodate volunteers from various time zones.
