Position Overview

At Believe in Me, we envision a future where every child has the self-confidence they need to succeed. We are a dedicated team, funding and supporting children's charities that provide marginalized kids with a safe place to call home, a loving family, a sense of community, and ample opportunities to learn, grow, self-esteem, and experience joy. We are currently developing the 1st Gen College Hub app, aimed at empowering first-generation college students with comprehensive resources, personalized guidance, and a supportive community.

Role Summary:

We are seeking creative and passionate Volunteer Digital Content Creators to join our team. In this role, you will be instrumental in producing engaging and educational content for the 1st Gen College Hub app. You will work closely with our content management and UI/UX design teams to create material that inspires, educates, and supports first-generation college students in navigating the complexities of college preparation and success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop a wide range of content including articles, blog posts, infographics, video scripts, and social media content that aligns with the app's mission and user needs.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure content accuracy and relevance.
  • Work with the UI/UX design team to ensure content is presented in an engaging and user-friendly manner.
  • Participate in content strategy meetings to align on content goals, themes, and distribution channels.
  • Utilize SEO best practices to enhance content visibility and reach.
  • Respond to user feedback to improve content quality and engagement.
Qualifications
  • Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to produce clear, engaging, and informative content.
  • Experience in digital content creation, including writing for web and social media platforms.
  • Creative thinker with the ability to translate complex information into user-friendly formats.
  • Knowledge of SEO principles and best practices.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a remote team environment.
  • Passion for education, empowerment, and the mission of Believe in Me.
  • Experience or interest in topics related to college preparation, higher education, and supporting marginalized communities is highly desirable.
  • Commitment to volunteering 2-3 hours per week for content strategy and production tasks.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and act swiftly in response to security incidents.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of working collaboratively with a remote, volunteer-based team.
  • A passion for cybersecurity and a commitment to using your skills to make a positive impact in the community.
Location

This is a remote volunteering position with flexible hours to accommodate volunteers from various time zones.
