Mission Statement

The purpose of the Bend the Mind Metamorphic Academies is to serve the underserved communities in learning how to heal and cope with concerns in life that one may have been traumatized by. Social stressors, learned behaviors & adverse environments are just a few areas that many individuals can be traumatized by no matter age, gender or race. BTMMA goal is to work hard to help communities face these challenges and gain the skills to move forward towards a better life.

Description

BTMMA will assist in traditional and holistic approaches on breaking negative generational behaviors, the poverty-driven mentality and improve upon a productive lifestyle by focusing on participants learning how to cope with issues. Issues that impact the domains of vocation, legal, housing, education, medical, spiritual, addiction and mental health. BTMMA will assist the community to address these issues through many different forms like art therapy, creative art expressions, media therapy, gaming, athletic endurance, health & wellness, podcasting, financial literacy and entrepreneurship programs.

BTMMA will help teach participants how to heal themselves, be a positive example of change and growth within their families and communities. Also gained the ability to teach others to do the same. BTMMA will collaborate with other community partners to form a "village" of wellness and recovery through empowerment, education, arts and entertainment. Taking the initiative one step at a time to help our communities to transform and evolve.
