YAE includes a juried art show featuring work from child artists from the Redlands area. Prizes are awarded and in the adjoining space, art stations are available for kids to stop by and make art.

YAE was created and is organized by the Margaret Clark Art Education and Enrichment Fund Committee of the Redlands Art Association.

Training and assistance will be provided. Great volunteer opportunity for teens, those training in child care/ education, and adults alike! Easels station- this volunteer opportunity involves filling paint cups, helping kids clean brushes, replacing water for cleaning brushes, hanging up painted pages on the "wall" of the tent/ drying lines to dry. Mission Statement

The mission of the Redlands Art Association is to enrich lives and promote a vibrant society by inspiring creativity, nurturing individual expression, and supporting the visual arts.

Description

The Redlands Art Association (RAA) has a long history and tradition of artists working together to bring visual arts to the community.

Every year, since 1961, the RAA has held "Art in the Park", an outdoor art fair where artists display work for sale Memorial Day weekend. The event has expanded and now is held in conjunction with The Redlands Festival of the Arts annual festival; together - the art events take place across the Smiley Park area by Redlands Bowl and A.K. Smiley Library.

The RAA has an educational arm, featuring adult and childrens' classes are taught at the gallery on State Street in Redlands. In addition, the gallery is a brick-and-mortar store and gallery showing space, where artwork is regularly on display for sale. Community members are welcomed to become a part of the RAA through attending monthly workshops, becoming members, and/or volunteering.

In the 1960s, the RAA began as a small room within the library, eventually moved to space in Vine Street, later to Citrus and in the 1990s, to its current space on State Street. In 1964, Margaret Clark, a professor at University of Redlands, spearheaded children’s art classes and later inspired a scholarship program in her name.

Today RAA continues to thrive hosting multiple themed shows, exhibits, and programs each year and offers classes and workshops for adults and children. Many scholarships, awards, and grants are available through the Margaret Clark Art Education Enrichment Fund (MACEEF) Committee.
