ORGANIZATION: The Lace Museum

We are a small, non profit textile museum located next to the Golden State Academy in Fremont.
We have been in business since 1981, and moved to Fremont in 2022.
Several opportunities are available:

1-We are in need of 2 people who are interested in sorting, assisting with barcoding, packaging
and other light merchandise needs. Could be one time or ongoing. hours flexible

2-We are looking fo a person that will come in for 2 hours per week to do light software maintenance
on our 3 computers. Backups, running antiviral software, updating drivers, software updates.

3-Ironing. We always have vintage linens to be ironed. We wash, you iron. This can be done on site or taken home and returned.

To preserve the art of lace making, to exhibit lace and its historical use and to offer instruction in all facets of lace making.

Description

The Lace Museum is a small, all-volunteer museum located in Fremont, California. It has permanent and rotating exhibits of lace and lace making tools. Tours are offered for individuals and small groups. The collections are comprised of over 10,000 pieces of lace, lace making tools, ephemera, a library and an archive. Workshops are given both in person and virtually for beginning to experienced lace makers with teachers from around the globe. The museum supports itself through teaching, lecturing, online sales and offsite sales events.
