VOLUNTEER JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Overview

At Believe in Me, we envision a future where every child, especially those marginalized, has the self-confidence they need to succeed. Through our initiatives, we fund and support programs that offer children a loving environment, educational opportunities, and the chance to grow in a supportive community. Our latest project, the 1st Gen College Hub app, aims to empower first-generation college students with the tools and resources they need to navigate the complexities of college preparation and success.

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Volunteer Automation Testing Lead to join our dynamic team of volunteers dedicated to developing the 1st Gen College Hub app. This role is crucial for ensuring the reliability and performance of our app through the implementation of comprehensive automated testing frameworks and practices.


Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Testing Strategies: Design, develop, and implement comprehensive automated testing strategies to cover functional, performance, and security testing aspects of the app.
  • Lead Automation Team: Lead and coordinate a team of volunteer automation testers, providing guidance and support in the creation and execution of test scripts.
  • Tool and Framework Selection: Select and implement appropriate automation tools and frameworks that align with the project’s technology stack and testing needs.
  • Test Execution and Management: Oversee the execution of automated tests, manage test data, and maintain the automation test environment.
  • Quality Assurance Collaboration: Work closely with the Quality Assurance (QA) Lead and the development team to integrate automated testing into the development lifecycle.
  • Issue Tracking and Reporting: Monitor automated test results, track and document issues, and communicate findings with the development team for timely resolution.
  • Continuous Improvement: Continually assess and refine testing practices and tools for efficiency and effectiveness. Encourage innovation and adoption of best practices in automation testing.
  • Volunteer Support and Training : Provide support and training to volunteer automation testers, fostering a collaborative and learning-oriented environment.
Qualifications
  • Experience in software testing with a strong emphasis on automation testing.
  • Proficiency in automation testing tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Appium, Jest).
  • Familiarity with software development and testing methodologies, particularly Agile.
  • Ability to lead and collaborate within a team of volunteers from diverse backgrounds.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Passion for education, technology, and the "Believe in Me" mission.
