Position Summary: The Disaster Researcher will play a critical role in our Risk Assessment and Disaster Management team, conducting rigorous scientific research on various disasters, including their causes, effects, and mitigation strategies. The researcher will gather and analyze data, develop predictive models, and contribute to the creation of effective disaster response plans. This position requires a blend of fieldwork, data analysis, and collaboration with a diverse team of experts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive research on natural and human-made disasters, focusing on risk assessment, impact analysis, and mitigation strategies.
• Collect, analyze, and interpret data using statistical and geospatial analysis tools.
• Develop and refine predictive models to forecast disaster occurrences and potential impacts.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including engineers, policy makers, and community leaders, to design and implement effective disaster response and preparedness plans.
• Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at national and international conferences.
• Stay abreast of the latest developments in disaster research and incorporate best practices into the organization's strategies.
• Engage with local communities to understand their vulnerabilities and resilience capacities, tailoring research and interventions to their specific needs.
