Through our partnership with NCSI, the National Center for Safety Initiatives will perform each comprehensive background check (a nationwide county criminal search, federal, and two sex offenders registry searches) for $35.
We ask all volunteers, staff members, and partners over the age of 16 to contribute a $20 donation toward their background check at https://nationalstemsociety.org/how-do-i-donate/ From the website, enter a custom amount, and click donate. The National STEM Society will cover the remaining cost of $15 through sponsorship funding.

Submitting a volunteer application or inquiry does not guarantee placement as a volunteer. Candidates will be accepted on the event or program needs matched with the candidates’ qualifications to meet those requirements as determined during the selection process. Incomplete volunteer applications will not be considered for review. If a suitable volunteer opportunity is available when your application is submitted, you will be contacted by the Volunteer Coordinator or other staff members.

NOTE: A volunteer interview/orientation, annual background check, and reference check (references are only requested for specific volunteer roles) will be required before any candidate can begin an assignment. All applications will be kept on file for one year.
