Position Title: Program Intern (Virtual or In person)

Position Description:
African American Women Trucking Passion (AAWTA) is excited to offer an internship opportunity for a Program Assistant Intern. As a Program Assistant Intern, you will play a vital role in supporting the implementation and management of various programs aimed at empowering African American women in the trucking industry. This internship provides an excellent opportunity for a college student to gain hands-on experience in non-profit program development and management while making a meaningful impact in the community.

Responsibilities:
1. Program Planning: Assist in the planning and development of programs aimed at supporting African American women in the trucking industry. This may include brainstorming ideas, creating program timelines, and developing program materials.

2. Logistics Coordination: Coordinate logistical aspects of program implementation, such as scheduling meetings, booking venues, arranging transportation, and procuring supplies and materials.

3. Communication: Serve as a point of contact for program participants, providing them with information, answering questions, and addressing concerns. Communicate regularly with program stakeholders, including volunteers, partners, and community members.

4. Program Implementation: Support the execution of programs by assisting with logistics for onsite coordination, facilitating activities, and ensuring that programs run smoothly and effectively.

5. Program Evaluation: Assist in evaluating program effectiveness by collecting and analyzing feedback from participants, monitoring program outcomes, and identifying areas for improvement..



Requirements:
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Passion for promoting diversity and inclusion, particularly within the trucking industry.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Previous experience in program coordination or event planning is preferred but not required.

Time Length:
This internship position will last 90 days, providing interns with a comprehensive understanding of non-profit program development and management. Interns are expected to commit approximately 20-30 hours per week, with flexible scheduling to accommodate academic obligations (Nights and Weekend option). TAfter the internship, compensation will be negotiated based on performance and may include an hourly wage or salary plus commission.
