Toddler Storytime Helper

We are looking for friendly, energetic adults (ages 18 or older) who enjoy interacting with children and their caregivers to assist with our Thursday Storytime. Storytimes are every Thursday from 10:30-11:30 and are geared toward Toddlers.

Please Note: All volunteers must complete a Leon Valley Public Library Volunteer Application and a background check form. These will be provided upon request.

Days and times needed: Thursdays 9:30 - 12:30

Storytime Volunteer Responsibilities:

- Help set-up for storytime and follow-up activities

- Greet storytime attendees and direct them where to go

- Take a count of all attendees each week

- Participate in storytime activities with families under the direction of the Librarian or Library Staff

- Help clean-up and put away materials

Qualifications: (required)

- Must enjoy working with children and families
- Be friendly and energetic
- Completion of the Leon Valley Public Library Volunteer Application (this will be provided upon contact)
- Completion of the City Leon Valley background check forms (these will be provided upon contact)

Preferred Qualifications (NOT required):

- Knowledge of sensory activities and early childhood development

- Willingness to help with puppet shows and reader's theater presentations
