What is NAMIWalks? Better to ask, Who is NAMIWalks?

NAMIWalks is first and foremost about people, inspired individuals reaching out to each other, one authentic story at a time, to form a community of hope.

NAMIWalks is the walk that has no finish line... only countless new beginnings for the people we serve - as we raise funds to power NAMI’s life-changing free programs and fuel growing awareness of our cause.

NAMIWalks is a celebration, a shining time and place for you to declare: "I will not step down, I will not step away. I will be there with my community."

No matter where we've been on our journey, we know where we're going, together.

We currently need volunteers for the following duties:
  • Set up: 5 volunteers needed
    • These volunteers will assist with setting up the tables for the mental health street fest, placing signage along the walk route, and setting up yard games in the outdoor space.
  • Kids Zone: 1 volunteer needed
    • This volunteer will be in charge of the kids zone area. They will be responsible for making sure we have enough items in the zone (coloring books, bubbles, stickers, etc) and assisting the face painter and balloon animal artist if they need anything.
  • NAMI / Swag table: 1 volunteer needed
    • This volunteer will be in charge of the NAMI zone area. They will be responsible for making sure we have enough items in the zone (why I walk signs, stickers, tattoos, etc) and assisting the face painter and balloon animal artist if they need anything.
  • Floater: 1 volunteer needed
    • This volunteer will assist the walk manager as needed throughout the walk day.
  • Registration Table: 2 volunteers needed
    • These volunteers will check in all walkers and give them the logistics for the day. If a walker is not registered, you will have them fill out a paper registration or direct them to the walk site to register.
    • If a walker raised $100 or more, you will direct them to the t-shirt table.
    • If they would like to donate/ turn in cash, direct them to the donations table.
  • T-Shirt Table: 2 volunteers needed
    • This volunteer will hand out t-shirts to walkers that raised $100. If we run out of shirts, you will take the walkers information and we will mail them one at a later date.
  • Route Monitors: 4 volunteers needed
    • These volunteers will be placed along the route to direct and cheer on walkers.
  • Photographer: 1 volunteer needed
  • Cheer squad: 10 volunteers needed
