We have a number of patrons at our Braille Library in need of a Volunteer Reader.
Some volunteer openings are in person at the Braille Library and some are virtual via phone or Zoom.
We are specifically looking for a local person, Spanish - speaking, who can come to the library on Tuesdays from 2pm to 4pm. We also need a very tech / computer savvy volunteer who hopefully speaks Arabic. Days and times for that opening are flexible. Lastly, we need a volunteer who has a math background or loves math concepts to assist a patron who needs a math textbook read to them on weekday afternoons / early evenings. When you respond to volunteer@nypl.org please put "Braille Library - Spanish, Arabic or Math in the subject line." Not proficient in Spanish , Arabic or Math? You can help us very much by sharing with your friends!
