Job Description:
Are you passionate about food insecurity? Have you been looking to make a meaningful impact through volunteer work while developing your professional skills? The Food for Thought Foundation seeks a volunteer passionate about public relations and social media. The volunteer will be responsible for managing social media campaigns and building community relationships.
Volunteer Responsibilities:
As a volunteer in this role, you will be expected to:
- Use LinkedIn and Hubspot to develop meaningful relationships with potential community partners and donors.
- Work with the Food for Thought Foundation staff to monitor an online fundraising campaign.
- Research to identify corporate social responsibility teams and develop meaningful relationships with identified points of contact.
- Attend events to increase our presence in the community.
- Manage successful social media campaigns while creating new, engaging content.
Work Hours and Benefits:
- Volunteers will work about 5-10 hours a week on a remote schedule.
- Though not required, preference will be given to volunteers in the DMV region to allow for occasional in-person scheduling.
- Professional hours worked at your hourly rate can be counted as tax-deductible donations.
