ORGANIZATION: CHM BIBLE THEATRE PRODUCTIONS INC

CHM Bible Theatre is seeking dedicated and enthusiastic Teacher Assistants to support our educational programs for youth. The Teacher Assistants will work closely with the Education Coordinator and Teaching Artists to facilitate engaging and enriching experiences for students in a creative and inclusive environment. This is a part-time position with opportunities for growth and professional development within the organization.

Responsibilities:

  1. Assist the Education Coordinator and Teacher in planning and implementing educational activities, lessons, and projects for youth participants.
  2. Support classroom management and behavior management strategies to ensure a safe and positive learning environment.
  3. Provide one-on-one or small group instruction to students as needed, offering support and guidance with assignments and projects.
  4. Assist with the setup, cleanup, and organization of classroom materials, equipment, and supplies before and after each session.
  5. Supervise students during breaks, transitions, and free time, always ensuring their safety and well-being.
  6. Collaborate with Teacher to assess student progress, provide feedback, and adjust instructional strategies to meet individual needs.
  7. Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages creativity, self-expression, and personal growth among students.
  8. Assist with administrative tasks such as attendance tracking, record-keeping, and communication with parents or guardians as needed.
  9. Uphold CHM Bible Theatre's values and policies, including those related to diversity, inclusion, and child protection.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in education, Theater Arts, or related field preferred.
  • Previous experience working with youth in a classroom preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect with and motivate students of diverse backgrounds.
  • Passion for the arts, creativity, and education, with a commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team of educators, artists, and volunteers to achieve common goals.
  • Flexibility, patience, and adaptability to respond to the needs and challenges of a dynamic learning environment.
  • Willingness to undergo background checks and training in child protection policies and procedures.

CHM Bibe Theatre, CHMBT, is a faith-based organization whose goal is to provide quality theatrical experiences and to train students and young adults with valuable life skills using creative art and theater. CHMBT supports quality theater and arts that bring families, unity, churches, schools, races, and communities together. We have presented several Bible, inspirational, seasonal productions, and skits at nursing homes, schools, churches, theaters, health centers, corporations, and community organizations. CHMBT is a 501c3 nonprofit organization that presents plays and provides innovative programs in various communities.
