Join The Teen Summer Reading Volunteer Team
Westminster Public Library is looking for teen volunteers (ages 12-18) to assist with the 2025 Summer Reading Program, "Adventures Begin at Your Library." The program runs from June 1 - July 31.
Tasks volunteers will be expected to help with the following:
- Describing the Summer Reading Program to kids, teens, and adults
- Registering kids, teens, and adults for the Summer Reading Program
- Tracking participants' completed levels in Beanstack
- Handing out prizes and bookmark logs to kids, teens, and adults
- Directing participants to library staff for assistance
- Assisting library staff with prep, set up and clean up for library programs.
Shifts begin June 1 and consist of one or two hour blocks. Sign up for shifts that fit your schedule, and as many shifts as you'd like. Volunteer are needed for both our College Hill and Irving Street Library. We are asking each volunteer to commit to 10 hours per week.
Available Shifts:
- Sunday: Afternoon
- Monday: Morning, Afternoon, Evening
- Tuesday: Morning, Afternoon, Evening
- Wednesday: Morning, Afternoon, Evening
- Thursday: Morning, Afternoon, Evening
- Friday: Morning, Afternoon
- Saturday: Afternoon
If this sounds fun, it's the perfect job for you! In order to participate, start by completing our Teen Volunteer application on the city website. Someone will contact you after your application is submitted to schedule an interview. If you are selected, you will be scheduled for a summer reading volunteer training.
