Researchers at Teachers College, Columbia University are seeking adolescents (ages 15-19 years) in eastern time zone states to participate in an online, paid, confidential study aimed at understanding how different patterns of thoughts and feelings may be associated with teen suicide risk. Adolescents do not need to have directly hurt themselves in the past in order to participate. Adolescent participation involves an initial 1.5-2 hour Zoom call, 2-week daily surveys using a mobile app, a 25-30 minute follow-up Zoom call, and a follow-up survey 3 months after the first Zoom call. Eligible participants will be compensated up to $130 at the end of study participation. Parent consent is required for adolescents under 18 years old. Parents/guardians also have the option to fill out brief surveys for a $10 gift card. This is a federally-funded study approved by Teachers College, Columbia University (IRB protocol #23-191).
