Desired Schedule: Weekdays (9am - 12 pm or 1pm - 5pm) and some weekends, typically Saturdays for Museum of Memory Workshops from 10 am - 1pm or 1pm - 4:30 pm. (Hybrid schedules can be discussed as needed)

Position Description: The Museum of Memory (MoM) Support volunteer will assist the team with workshops, oral history collection, community events, administrative support, and data capturing. Specific duties could include:

Participate in community engagement and memory workshops.

  • Note-taking to identify themes at the Memory Workshops
  • Support registration/scanning of photos
  • Complete the Photo description forms
  • Assistance with set up and take down of workshop materials.

Support HC staff with set up for oral histories

  • Conduct oral histories
  • Support taking/recording photographs from narrators
  • Interpretation/translation
  • Assist with documenting and cataloging MoM project materials

Support data capturing and administration efforts

  • Support in researching and developing activities/documents/digital marketing creation for sharing back of MoM efforts with community partners.
  • Data capturing (photo-log/oral history interpretation, identifying quotes)
  • Assist in supporting the analysis of the themes and Data for project impact

Impact - This role gives volunteers the opportunity to contribute to meaningful community initiatives at History Colorado. Volunteers who assist with this team will gain experience in community outreach, oral history techniques, data collection and analysis and assist with our goal of sharing the diverse stories of Colorado.
