Restraining Order Advocates are often the first contact with domestic violence services that survivors have, and are a critical source of information, safety planning, and emotional support!
Volunteers are trained supporting survivors of domestic violence and in navigating the civil legal system to assist petitioners with the necessary paperwork to file for a Temporary Restraining Order.
Time / Commitment: Weekly 3-hour shift for 1 year (M-F morning hours) at the Multnomah County Courthouse.
About VOA Oregon's Home Free: As an award-winning domestic violence intervention program, Home Free provides emergency and transitional services to adults and their children who are living with or escaping from domestic violence. Services also include a crisis line, emergency housing, mobile and out-stationed advocacy, intensive case management, restraining order advocacy, parenting support, children's services, support groups, and systems navigation, along with ongoing support and transitional services for up to two years.

Since 1896, Volunteers of America Oregon has worked to change lives by promoting self-determination and building strong communities.
