Hi My name is Valynda King, I am the Life Enrichment Director for James L West. I coordinate musical entertainment for the residents who live here. They really enjoy all types of music and appreciate the time you have to offer. The best times for our residents to have music is between 10:00 or 11:00 and 2:00 through 3:30.
If you think you would lift the spirits of our residents with your wonderful talent, please reach out.

Thank You :)

By participating in meaningful research and sharing its experience and knowledge, the Center is committeed to enriching lives now and in the future."

Description

The James L West Alzheimer Center was founded to honor the memory of Fort Worth business leader and philanthropist James L. West. When Mr. West was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease, he and his wife shared a wish that a center devoted to the care of persons with dementia be made available for north Texans. To honor that wish and his memory, in 1991 Mrs. West directed the James L. and Eunice P. West Charitable Trust, through First Presbyterian Church of Fort Worth, to provide major funding for construction of a nondenominational facility dedicated solely to caring for persons with Alzheimer's disease and related disorders. The Center's philosophy of compassionate, affordable care for its residents and families is a result of Mrs. West's tribute to her husband and continues to guide the decision-making of the board and the staff. In addition to residential and adult day care services, the center serves as a training site for local students of medical professions.
