Volunteers will receive a brief educational lesson on climate-smart farming practices and learn how to steward the land in an environmentally sustainable way at the Freetown Farm of Community Ecology Institute (CEI). They will help care for native flora and produce plants that grow at the Freetown Farm.

The Community Ecology Institute (CEI) seeks to cultivate communities where people and nature thrive together. CEI's work focuses on tangible, community-level change at the intersection of environment, education, equity, and health. Its initiatives have concentrated on four Cs: Connection to Nature, Civic Ecology, Community Health, and Climate Action.
Freetown is the host site that teaches people how to sustainably garden and where the organization grows produce for local food pantries.
