We are looking for a compassionate volunteer to visit with hospice patients in the Elm Grove area that are nearing end of life. As a volunteer, you may meet with patients and chat about hobbies, watch tv together, play card games, or play music for our patients. We have patients located in their homes, care facilities, and on our inpatient unit.
Our volunteers are full members of our hospice team and often form close ties with the patient and their family. In our Volunteer Orientation class you will understand some of the challenges that face patients and families and ways you can bring quality of life and compassionate care to them.
As a hospice volunteer you will learn about the hospice philosophy, communicating with patients and families, family dynamics, spiritual care and the grief process.
