Welcome a high school exchange student for 8 weeks and help them get a head start for their exchange year in the U.S.!
This temporary placement helps students get acclimated to their new U.S. community, get involved in school sports and activities, and start making friends, and gives you and your family the opportunity to get to know someone from another country and culture!
We are CURRENTLY SEEKING Welcome Families in RALEIGH/WAKE COUNTY for a few Fall 2024 exchange students.
As a volunteer welcome family, you would provide room/board and support the student during the transition into living in the U.S. Our student are 14-18 and come from countries like Germany, Spain, Italy, Thailand, etc. for 5 or 10 months to experience what life is like living with an American family and going to U.S. high school. Students come with their own health insurance and spending money, as well as a desire to learn about U.S. life and culture. iE provides a local representative and 24/7 support for our students and host families.
Once the welcome period is over, the student will move to their permanent host family to complete the rest of their exchange year.
