About the Project S.T.E.P.
The Project S.T.E.P. is a non-profit organization committed to raising awareness about sex trafficking, exploitation, and prevention.
OUR MISSION
We seek to provide awareness, education, and prevention of sex trafficking and exploitation. We recognize that the same environment that creates the victim can also create the offender. We teach the offender the impact that sex trafficking has on victims, victim's families, and offender's families, as well as its impact on the community.
Role Overview
As a Volunteer Tech Analyst, you will play a vital role in advancing our cause through effective online communication. Your technical skills will directly impact our ability to reach a wider audience and create meaningful change. This is a remote position.
Responsibilities:
1. Website Enhancement
Website Design: Collaborate with our team to update the look and feel of The Project S.T.E.P.'s website.
User Experience (UX): Ensure a user-friendly experience by optimizing navigation, layout, and responsiveness.
Content Management: Regularly update website content, including survivor stories, resources, and event information.
SEO Optimization: Implement basic search engine optimization techniques to improve visibility.
2. Social Media Management
Platform Oversight: Manage our social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.).
Content Creation: Develop engaging content related to sex trafficking awareness, survivor stories, and prevention efforts.
Audience Engagement: Interact with followers, respond to messages, and foster community engagement.
Analytics and Reporting: Monitor social media performance and adjust strategies as needed.
3. Collaboration
Team Coordination: Work closely with our communications and outreach teams to align website and social media efforts.
Attend Meetings: Participate in regular team meetings to discuss progress, campaigns, and improvements.
Qualifications:
Passion for Social Justice: A genuine commitment to combating sex trafficking and exploitation.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in web design, content management systems (e.g., WordPress), and social media platforms.
Creativity: Ability to create visually appealing content that resonates with our audience.
Attention to Detail: Ensure accuracy and consistency in all online communications.
Time Commitment: Approximately 5-10 hours per week (flexible based on availability).
