ORGANIZATION: The Project S.T.E.P.

Mission Statement of The Project S.T.E.P.: The Project S.T.E.P. is dedicated to combating sex trafficking and exploitation. Our mission is to raise awareness, provide education, and prevent these heinous crimes. We recognize that both victims and offenders emerge from the same environment, and we aim to break this cycle by empowering individuals with knowledge and empathy. Through our curriculum, we educate offenders about the impact of sex trafficking on victims, their families, and the community. Our goal is to create a safer world where everyone understands the consequences of these crimes and actively works to prevent them1.

Job Description: As a volunteer Associate Social Worker and remote group facilitator for The Project S.T.E.P., you will play a vital role in supporting our mission. Your primary responsibility will be to facilitate virtual support groups for individuals affected by sex trafficking and exploitation. Some of these groups will require a licensed clinical social worker, while some volunteers for this position do not need to be associate social workers themselves.

Responsibilities:

Group Facilitation:

Lead virtual support groups for offenders.

Create a safe and supportive environment for open dialogue and healing.

Collaborate with the licensed clinical social worker to ensure effective group dynamics.

Education and Empathy:

Educate participants about the impact of sex trafficking and exploitation.

Foster empathy and understanding among group members.

Encourage self-reflection and personal growth.

Coordination:

Schedule and organize group sessions.

Maintain confidentiality and respect participants' privacy.

Provide resources and referrals as needed.

Communication:

Regularly communicate with the licensed clinical social worker for guidance and supervision.

Attend virtual team meetings and training sessions.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in social work or related field (Associate Social Worker status not required for some groups).

Compassion, empathy, and a commitment to social justice.

Excellent communication and active listening skills.

Ability to create a supportive and nonjudgmental space for group members.

Reliable internet connection for remote facilitation.

Time Commitment:

Approximately 5-8 hours per week (flexible based on your availability).

Benefits:

Make a meaningful impact by supporting offenders.

Gain experience in group facilitation and trauma-informed care.

Work remotely and contribute to breaking the cycle of exploitation.

If you share our passion for creating a safer world and want to be part of a dedicated team, we encourage you to apply. Together, we can empower individuals and prevent sex trafficking and exploitation
