We're looking for a CPA to serve on our finance committee to help with budgeting procedures, etc. We want to ensure financial health and stability, analyze financial data, and make decisions based on the nonprofit’s unique financial position of the organization.

This is a volunteer opportunity.

Desired Skills and Experience
This position requires the following skills: Accounting, Bookkeeping, Budgeting, Cost Analysis, Financial Auditing, Financial Planning which includes but not limited to following tasks:

Reviewing all of our organization’s accounts.
Balancing transactions
Compiling financial statements
Preparing for Audits
Filing tax forms
Analyzing operating budgets.
Maintaining compliance with GAAP standards.

Our organization is dedicated to improving the lives of residents on Roosevelt Island by enabling collaboration between citizens, businesses, and city authorities to create solutions to urban challenges to improve economic and environmental outcomes.

Description

We set up this organization to improve the lives of Roosevelt Island, NY residents. Our goal is to make our community more cohesive and equitable while creating an environment of transparency. This will be accomplished by developing a platform that enables residents to provide feedback on their quality of life on the island and providing supporting organizations with ways to identify areas of opportunities and underrepresented groups to help enact policies and initiatives to improve lives.

For residents, it will save time searching for many services the island offers and provide a consistent way to give feedback to supporting organizations, seamlessly integrating them with the community. It will allow organizations to communicate centrally and support residents, helping determine what is working and what needs improvement.
