"It is not the voice that commands the story, it is the ear." - I. Calvino
Do you enjoy talking on the phone and have time to make a few weekly phone calls?
Many of our hospice patients are looking for volunteers who would love to spend time having conversations with them. Companionship callers aid patients and caregivers by helping them feel less lonely and isolated. You will be trained to listen, hone your interpersonal relationships, develop empathy, and support others with your warm telephone presence.
Calls can be made at your convenience between the hours of 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. as long as the patient privacy and HIPPA protocols are observed...

Calls can be made at your convenience between the hours of 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. as long as the patient privacy and HIPPA protocols are observed. With one-on-one training you will be able to provide friendly non-medical support. You will need access to a computer so that you can document the call.
Let's meet over a cup of tea at your favourite coffee shop and discuss hospice and what telephone volunteering looks like for you. Contact: Susy Wagner, 458-658-1579, susan.wagner@sighch.com
