Introduction

Could you help a charity register to become a research organization? Africa Health Organisation (AHO) plans to register with research authorities to receive funding and conduct research in Africa and the Diaspora in UK, US, Europe, Americas, Arab, The Caribbean and Asia.

Main Responsibilities

  • Recruit the Company Directors and Charity Trustees for AHO with medical, health, engineering, social degrees, etc.
  • Register with government authorities.
  • Register with the research authorities so that it can qualify to receive funding
  • Register with other relevant authorities so that it can be recognised to carry out research and innovation;
  • Engage AHO with other research institutes and academic institutions
  • Help to register AHO as a research organisation in Africa and the Diaspora
  • Engage AHO with other research institutes and academic institutions in Africa.
  • Apply for funding to run AHO research and make it financially sustainable
  • Come up with relevant research topics
  • Apply for research funding in Africa and the Diaspora.
  • Help to recruit research staff to carry out research according to funders requirements
  • Taking responsibility for the project management and administration as it relates to delivering work.
  • Any other duties as required by the line manager in line with the role.

Prior experience - essential

  • Full Professors at universities or research institutes
  • Research Assistant Professors, Research Associate Professors, Research Professors, Clinical Professors, and Senior Research Fellows at universities or research institutes
  • Post-Doctoral Fellows at universities or research institutes
  • 3 years of post-doctoral experience in research prefavoubly in medical, engineering, health and social sciences
  • Experience of having conducted robust desktop research and knowledge of a range of methodologies for doing this.
  • Evidence of ability to grasp complex concepts and debates quickly and to engage with these effectively through research.
  • Ability to communicate effectively - in writing and in person - about research findings to a range of audiences.
  • Evidence of having delivered or contributed to the delivery of high-quality social research outputs.
  • Understanidng of health and social issues in Africa, essential but not required.
