Want to be a part of a 97-year old Austin tradition and spend a spring day outdoors in a beautiful park with a spectacular view?
Become a part of the ABC Kite Festival in Zilker Park on Saturday April 5th by volunteering with the Exchange Club of Austin and help give back to our community. The Exchange Club founded the Kite Contest in 1929 and continues to raise money for local charities through the Kite Festival. Funds raised through kite sales directly benefit children in Austin to overcome obstacles and continue their education through local non-profits such as LifeWorks and Family Eldercare.
This is a high energy day at a spectacular and iconic event in Austin. Fun and fast paced, volunteers will be helping the public select and purchase kites to fly at the festival. Volunteers will work directly with members of the Exchange Club which is an all volunteer non-profit community service group.
Sales experience is helpful however we can train on the spot. Ability to do cash transactions is required. Experience with Venmo and use of the square application for credit cards on a cell phone is a plus but not required. Work will start at 9am with booth set up, booth opens at 10am and closes between 3 and 4pm or until kite inventory is gone. Parking, lunch and drinks are provided to volunteers and there will be rest breaks during the day. Experience with kites is a plus but not necessary to volunteer for this event.
Help Austin kids get an education and make 'Kite Day' fun and festive for many folks. More information on the festival can be found at http://www.abckitefestival.org. The Exchange Club can be found at: http://www.austinexchange.org/welcome.

Our motto is "Unity for Service".
Description
Exchange is a group of men and women working to make America a better place to live through one national project, the Prevention of Child Abuse, and other community service projects.
Since 1924, the Exchange Club of Austin has worked to improve our community, help the disadvantaged and encourage good citizenship. Membership is open to everyone. Join us and be a part of this vital organization. Together we can make a difference in Central Texas! Exchange helps members to develop leadership, networking, and organizational skills that contribute to success in business, family and personal endeavors.
More importantly, Exchange provides members the opportunity to share their talents to help others whether by reaching out to an abused child who needs love and affection, helping to organize a community crime prevention program, or wielding rakes in a clean-up project. Through these and many other positive public-spirited projects, Exchangites are making a real difference in cities and towns across America.
