Overview:
As a Volunteer Grant Writer at Crowned for Purpose, you will play a crucial role in securing funding to support our programs and initiatives aimed at empowering youth and promoting positive social change. By researching grant opportunities, writing compelling grant proposals, and cultivating relationships with potential funders, you will help us fulfill our mission of providing mentorship, workshops, and resources to young people in need. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact and contribute to the sustainability and growth of our organization.
Responsibilities:
1. Grant Research: Identify potential grant opportunities from government agencies, foundations, corporations, and other sources that align with our organization's mission and programs.
2. Proposal Writing: Prepare grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and grant applications in accordance with funder guidelines and requirements. Develop persuasive narratives, budgets, and supporting materials to effectively communicate our organization's goals, activities, and impact.
3. Grant Management: Assist in managing grant timelines, reporting requirements, and deliverables. Ensure compliance with grant terms and conditions and maintain accurate records of grant activities and outcomes.
4. Relationship Building: Cultivate relationships with funders, program officers, and other stakeholders to enhance our visibility, credibility, and funding opportunities. Attend networking events, meetings, and conferences to promote our organization and establish partnerships.
5. Collaboration: Collaborate with program directors, finance staff, and other team members to gather information, data, and insights needed for grant proposals. Work closely with the development team to align grant funding with organizational priorities and strategic goals.
6. Research and Development: Stay informed about trends, best practices, and changes in the grant funding landscape. Research new funding opportunities and strategies to diversify our funding sources and maximize financial support for our programs.
7. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain organized records of grant submissions, correspondence, and outcomes. Prepare grant reports, impact assessments, and success stories for funders, board members, and other stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Strong writing skills, with the ability to craft clear, concise, and compelling grant proposals and narratives.
- Excellent research and analytical abilities, with the capacity to gather and synthesize information from diverse sources.
- Detail-oriented and organized, with a high level of accuracy in grant writing and documentation.
- Familiarity with grant writing best practices, fundraising principles, and donor cultivation strategies.
- Previous experience in grant writing, fundraising, or nonprofit development is preferred but not required.
- Passion for youth empowerment, social justice, and community engagement.

Crowned for Purpose Corporation addresses education, prevention, coordinates and provides aid and relief to youth and women survivors of sexual abuse/assault, bullying and low self esteem in the Metro Atlanta area, Southeast MS and their surrounding counties. Crowned for Purpose Corporation accomplishes this through two core programs I AM ROYALTY and Krown Her.
Crowned for Purpose will launch its I am King boys mentorship program January 2022. This program was created to provide mentorship, address education, bullying prevention, and provide aid and relief to youth to at risk male youth in the Metro Atlanta area.
