Local Volunteers Helping Local Communities

ORGANIZATION: American Red Cross

Red Cross

Most of the 60,000 emergencies that the Red Cross responds to each year are local, personal disasters like home fires. Disaster Action Teams (DAT) provide emotional support, financial assistance, and information to help families begin the process of recovery. The DAT Coordinator provides readiness and administrative program support and leadership for the DAT program within an assigned DAT response area(s). They work with other chapter/territory leadership to define the overall strategy for the program to ensure an appropriately staffed, trained, and resourced team.
