These positions function throughout the Division of Facilities (maintenance), Division of Administration (communications and IT), Division of Interpretation (Park Guide and Education Technician), and Division of Cultural and Natural Resources (historian and biological technician) at Reconstruction Era National Historical Park. The candidate will provide the work and assistance necessary to support the needs of the Reconstruction Era NHP staff while also gaining on-the-job training. Candidates with prior experience within a certain field is preferred but not necessary as each position will work alongside staff and have the opportunity to pursue trainings specific to their individual interests. Applicants are not required to possess prior experience or knowledge but must demonstrate a willingness to work as a team, learn new skills, solve problems, and be mentored. In addition, applicants must be willing to fulfill a minimum SkillBridge term of 20 weeks (adjustable under certain circumstances). The skills learned throughout the length of these programs can be applied to a wide variety of career fields and prepare the candidate for another federal job, but with the Department of the Interior.
