Homeless Children's Education Fund is seeking volunteers to help staff afterschool programs for K-8th grade students at 4 shelters in the Pittsburgh area throughout the school year. This is a great opportunity to build kids' confidence in their abilities and strengthen key academic skills by helping our instructors deliver a variety of fun, creative educational activities.

Volunteers will assist instructors in the afternoons 1 day per week until the end of the school year (early June). Programs run Mon-Thur from either 3:30 to 5:30 PM or 4-6 PM and will take place in designated classroom spaces within the shelters. Volunteers must be able to commit to the same weekly day/time for at least one school semester and will also need to provide PA child abuse, PA background check, and federal background check clearances; we can help you get them if needed.

Please email Brian at bknight@homelessfund.org to set up a brief screening meeting via Zoom.
