Time spent doing the simplest of things can mean so much to so many.
Some activities our volunteers do with patients include:
- Watching TV
- Reading out loud to patients
- Sitting outside
- Walking with patients or taking them on walks in their wheelchair
- Listening to music
- Crafting
- Making small talk and getting to know each other.
- Even sitting quietly and holding their hand can make someone's day better!

We serve persons dying from any disease - in the home, in hospitals, and in other environments of their choice. Athena Hospice is committed to increasing access to hospice care for those who have traditionally been undeserved. Description
Hospice care is about not giving up....it is about hope for people facing a life-limiting illness -- hope of living their lives free of pain, without fear and in the company of family and friends. The emotional and spiritual support we provide to patients and their families is greatly enhanced by the help of our staff and volunteers. We offer a supportive environment, friendly staff and a rewarding experience. In addition we now offer online training for your convenience.
