Have you been looking for volunteer work that feeds your soul and warms your heart?

Do you have an interest in making a true difference in someone's life by simply sitting with them?

If you answered yes, then Hospice of Western & Central Massachusefts would love to have you join our team in Webster, MA!

Time spent doing the simplest of things can mean so much to so many.

Some activities our volunteers do with patients include:

  • Watching TV
  • Reading out loud to patients
  • Sitting outside
  • Walking with patients or taking them on walks in their wheelchair
  • Listening to music
  • Crafting
  • Making small talk and getting to know each other.
  • Even sitting quietly and holding their hand can make someone's day better!

Please call me at (413) 786-4004 or email me at ejezierski@hospiceowesternma.com so we can talk, and I can answer any questions you may have!

No time is too little to give!

About Athena Home Health Hospice

Location:

135 South Rd, Farmington, CT 06032, US

Mission Statement

Athena Home Health and Hospice strives to enable dying persons and those close to them to gain comfort and control over their lives, while neither hastening nor postponing death. We serve persons dying from any disease - in the home, in hospitals, and in other environments of their choice. Athena Hospice is committed to increasing access to hospice care for those who have traditionally been undeserved. Through hands-on assistance and teaching, we enable families and friends to care for those they love in supportive and familiar surroundings.

Description

Hospice care is about not giving up....it is about hope for people facing a life-limiting illness -- hope of living their lives free of pain, without fear and in the company of family and friends. The emotional and spiritual support we provide to patients and their families is greatly enhanced by the help of our staff and volunteers. We offer a supportive environment, friendly staff and a rewarding experience. In addition we now offer online training for your convenience.
