Location: Mostly remote, with weekly meetings in Little Rock or North Little Rock
Compensation: Volunteer position
Hours: Flexible, part-time-approx. 5 hours/week

About Food Jobs Work, Inc.:
Food Jobs Work is a small but growing nonprofit focused on culinary workforce development for underemployed adults and youth. We provide culinary skills training, life skills development, and job readiness support to individuals who have faced challenges such as incarceration, homelessness, and addiction. As we look to expand in the coming year, we need support in maintaining the financial and business management aspects of our organization.

Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced volunteer to assist with bookkeeping and business management tasks. This is an ideal role for a retiree with a background in accounting, bookkeeping, or office management. The volunteer will play an important role in maintaining the organization’s financial records, handling accounting tasks, and working with the board treasurer and accountant to produce reports. Experience with nonprofit financial management is preferred, and familiarity with QuickBooks Online is required.

As the organization grows, we will hire a full-time business manager/bookkeeper, for which this volunteer will get first consideration.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and take action on bills, online tax reporting, and other accounting items.
• Maintain the organization’s books using QuickBooks Online.
• Keep detailed records of grant income and expenditures for accurate reporting.
• Collaborate with the accountant and board treasurer to ensure accurate financial records and assist with the production of financial reports.

Qualifications:

• Experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or business/office management.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online.
• Familiarity with nonprofit financial requirements is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Availability for weekly in-person meetings in Little Rock or North Little Rock.
