About Centra Hospice

Location:

2097 Langhorne Rd, Lynchburg, VA 24501, US

Mission Statement

Centra's mission, vision and values are our guiding principles. Our mission is why we exist. It is the compass or true north we use to chart our course and guide our steps. Our vision answers the questions, "where are we going and what will it look like when we get there?" It is who we aspire to be and fuels us to reach for great things. Our values are the fabric of who we are and how we succeed at our mission and vision. They define our culture and remind us what it is to be Centra Caregivers, partnering with you to live your best life.

Description

Hospice is a specialized program that offers help, comfort and support for people with serious illnesses and their families. Hospice is about living as fully and completely as possible by assisting patients and families with their medical, emotional and spiritual needs.

Centra Hospice began serving the community in 1984. There are currently 3 business units (Lynchburg, Farmville, and Bedford) each cover approximately a 60-mile radius and covers over 17 counties. In 2000 Centra opens up the first Hospice House in the state of Virginia (this was located in Lynchburg). Then in 2018, with the help of the Bedford community, they opened up the Bedford Hospice House.

Job roles you can do for Hospice: Visit patients in their homes and at facilities, help deliver medication, help deliver meals to the hospice house (Bedford area only), helping with set up/ clean up memorial services, helping office staff, Pet companion visits, music, and We Honor Veteran pinning's.
