Nature Store Volunteers
Assist customers in the store, operate the cash register, inventory items purchased, stock shelves with new inventory, maintain items in an orderly and attractive matter. Potential to occasionally attend community events to perform outreach and sell merchandise, and other duties as agreed upon by Nature Store Manager and volunteer.
The Rookery Nature Store is located inside of the Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center near Oak Harbor, Ohio. The Rookery Nature Store is managed by the Friends of Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge, a 501(c)3 nonprofit supporting Ohio's only national wildlife refuge complex through fundraising and volunteerism.

The Rookery Nature Store is open Wednesday - Sunday from 10am-4pm. Seasonal hours may increase. Volunteers are needed in 4-6 hour shifts.

Friends of Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge increases awareness and capacity of the Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge Complex by engaging others and advocating for conservation initiatives.
Description
Friends of Ottawa NWR is a non-profit 501(c)(3) co-operating association established in 1997 to promote the preservation of the natural and historical resources of the Refuge, foster its use and enjoyment by the public consistent with the protection and preservation of its environment, and engage in such educational, scientific, and civic activities as will assist the management of the refuge in carrying out its mandates.

- Must be at least 18
- Orientation or Training
- A minimum of one four-hour block of time per week is preferred. Ideally, volunteers would be scheduled for one six hour shift weekly on a set day of the week at least twice a month on an ongoing basis.
- This is a great position for someone who loves the great outdoors and wants to make a visible impact on wildlife and habitat conservation. Funds raised in The Rookery Nature Store directly help to protect Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge!
