Job Title: Lead Full Stack Developer
Job Overview: We are seeking a talented and experienced Lead Full Stack Developer to join our team and take on a pivotal role in guiding various teams toward seamless integration within Think Round's Virtual Center for the Human Family. As a Lead Full Stack Developer, you will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of virtual spaces, ensuring cohesion between different teams, and contributing to the overall success of our innovative projects, which will require making our projects visible, accessible, user friendly, educational, dynamic, engaging, and interactive for the general pubic using the latest technologies.
Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership:
- Provide leadership and guidance to teams of volunteer Full Stack Developers, UX/UI Prototypers, and other relevant professionals. Note: All team members are volunteer interns advancing their skills and portfolios. Must enjoy guiding, teaching less experienced team leads and members.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive environment, ensuring effective communication and knowledge-sharing among team members.
- Integration of Virtual Spaces:
- Lead the development and integration of virtual spaces within the framework of the Virtual Center for the Human Family.
- Collaborate with various teams, including Social Media Management, Content Creation, and Digital Marketing, to ensure a cohesive and user-friendly virtual experience.
- Technology Stack Management:
- Oversee the selection and management of the technology stack required for virtual space development.
- Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to continually enhance and optimize virtual platforms.
- Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams:
- Work closely with other team leads, including three floors of The Center for the Human Family, Art Center, Author's Team, Short Film Maker/Editor Team, and Business Development/Partnership Specialist Team, to integrate their contributions seamlessly into the virtual space.
- User Experience and Interface Design:
- Collaborate with UX/UI Prototypers to ensure an intuitive and engaging user experience within the virtual environment.
- Provide input on interface design to enhance user interaction and satisfaction.
- Quality Assurance and Testing:
- Implement robust testing procedures to ensure the functionality, security, and performance of virtual spaces.
- Conduct regular quality assurance checks and address any issues that may arise.
- Project Management:
- Develop project timelines, milestones, and deliverables in collaboration with project managers.
- Ensure projects are completed on time and within scope, providing regular updates to stakeholders.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Encourage a culture of continuous improvement within the development team.
- Identify areas for optimization, efficiency, and innovation in the virtual space development process.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Full Stack Developer with a strong background in both frontend and backend technologies.
- Leadership experience in guiding development teams and managing complex projects.
- Proficiency in a variety of programming languages, frameworks, and database management systems.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Experience with virtual reality or augmented reality development is a plus.
- Proven experience as a Full Stack Developer, with a minimum of [2 years] in a leadership role.
- Strong proficiency in front end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and front end frameworks (React, Angular, Vue.js).
- Extensive experience with back end technologies, including but not limited to Node.js, Python, Ruby, or Java.
- Knowledge of database systems (MySQL, MongoDB, etc.) and proficiency in server-side languages.
- Experience with virtual environments, online collaboration tools, and content management systems.

Think Round, Inc. is a 501(c)3 nonprofit founded in 2004 by Heidi Hardin. Think Round is also an E-verify employer seeking art students of all types. Heidi is a fine artist who served as an original member of SF’s Hunters Point Shipyard (HPS) artists & the Citizen’s Advisory Committee for Reuse of HPS. Since 1992, Heidi has created & implemented nationally acclaimed art & science programs for children & their families in Bayview Hunters Point. Teaching art & science, & community history, & serving as museum artist at the deYoung, shaped her vision art that tells a multifaceted story of family, faith, community & culture. Think Round’s programs reflect the same core concerns that guide her own artwork: a deep love of humankind & the planet.
The heart of Think Round’s programs is The Human Family Tree/A Walk Through Paradise (Paradise), a multimedia art installation. Paradise is a collaboration of visionaries that includes paintings, original music, & finds common threads in diverse families, ethnicities & cultures. It draws from Hardin’s work: empowering children, youth & families through art & science. A permanent home for Paradise & for related experiential programs that advance Think Round’s commitment to education is The Center for the Human Family. The current form of The Center for the Human Family is Think Round Fine Arts where artists, who champion Think Round values, show & discuss their art. "Earth is home. Humans are family."
