- Serves as an integral member of the interdisciplinary group administrative duties.
- Participates in general orientation.
- Serves the patient and family/caregiver under guidance of Volunteer Coordinator.
- Demonstrates professional, courteous demeanor, positive attitude, strong work ethics and the ability to collaborate in a constructive manner with others in a dynamic working environment.
- Meets all health requirements set by the organization.
- Participates in volunteer support groups and/or educational in-services.
- Maintains open communication and reports regularly to the Volunteer Coordinator.
- Participates in quality assessment performance improvement teams and activities.
- Participates in interdisciplinary group meetings, as appropriate.
- Sort mail, send information packets to patients and patient’s family members, and greet visitors.
- Work on miscellaneous projects, as needed.
- Walk visitors to their destination.
- Volunteers perform only those responsibilities listed in their area and if they are not sure, must contact the Volunteer Coordinator. If the task can be completed by the Volunteer, the Volunteer Coordinator will add it to the job description.

Valley Regional Home Health & Hospice Care is dedicated to serving our community, our patients, and our families with a total commitment to excellence in hospice care, regardless of ability to pay. Our patients and families come to us with unique feelings and apprehension as they face end-of-life concerns.
An individualized plan of care tailored to the full spectrum of needs for our patients and their families is the foundation of our hospice service.
Each patient we serve is faced with unique circumstances associated with end-of-life care. Valley Regional Home Health & Hospice Care strives to meet those challenges and ease those burdens. Our interdisciplinary team works together with the patient and family to provide the highest quality medical care, as well as social and spiritual support. Our mission is to walk alongside those we serve to provide end-of-life care with respect and dignity.
