Yosemite Museum Docent

Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: National Park Service

The Yosemite Museum needs your help! We are seeking responsible, trustworthy volunteers to staff the museum information desk during several temporary exhibits planned for 2024. Docents will be responsible for opening and closing the exhibit daily, act as security, provide information to visitors, and perform basic routine housekeeping.

Three separate exhibits are planned for 2024. The first will run from March 25 - May 3; the second from August 26 - September 1; and the last from September 16 - December 20, 2024. The exhibits are open daily (including weekends and most federal holidays) from 10a-4p with an hour break for lunch at 12p.

Volunteers are responsible for their own housing from March through September. Housing in the Ranger Club, private bedroom with shared kitchen/bathroom/common areas, may be available starting in October.

The Yosemite Museum relies solely on volunteers to staff temporary exhibits and must keep the exhibit closed if no volunteers are available to staff the desk. We can’t do it without you!
